HCV BUNDLE

HEPATITIS C VIRUS CLINICAL TOOL BUNDLE

Almost 250,000 Canadians are infected with chronic Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) – but nearly halfdon’t even know it.1,2 The HCV Clinical Tool Bundle is a tool set within Accuro to help you screen, diagnose and refer HCV patients.

QHR strives to empower you with tools to make your workflows more efficient. Building and supporting specialized tools in the EMR requires additional resources. QHR is aware that our users are sensitive to increased costs of the EMR and that patients and payers should not be burdened with these costs. Therefore, we are working with third parties to support QHR in bringing new and specialized tools and making them available to our users on an enrollment basis. Not only does this allow for efficiencies, but choice as well. You can choose to enroll or not – and you can also opt out at any time. It is up to you to decide which tools are right for you and your patients.

Our First Initiative: Hepatitis C Virus Clinical Tool Bundle

Supported by Gilead Sciences Canada, Inc.

WHY AN INITIATIVE FOR HEPATITIS C VIRUS?

HCV is a major contributing factor to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the main subtype of liver cancer. Because the disease is often asymptomatic, many patients with HCV remain undiagnosed.1 The consequences of this are serious: 60-70% of those with HCV will develop chronic liver disease; up to 20% will develop cirrhosis; and 1-5% will die from liver cancer or cirrhosis.3

The content for the HCV Clinical Tool Bundle was validated by two of Canada’s leading experts in HCV management:

  • Alnoor Ramji, MD, FRCP
Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of British Columbia
  • Hemant Shah, MD, MScCH, HPTE
Clinic Director at Francis Family Liver Clinic and Staff Hepatologist at the University Health Network.
