Overview
Waive AI Document Triage uses artificial intelligence to read, understand, and route incoming clinic documents such as faxes, lab results, consult letters, and imaging reports, reducing one of the most time-consuming administrative tasks faced by clinics.
The AI analyzes the document’s content, identifies what type it is, and applies clinic-defined rules to determine where it should go. This may include assigning it to a specific provider and flagging it for review. The result is a more streamlined, consistent, and accurate document workflow within Accuro.
This tool helps clinics decrease administrative burden, shorten turnaround times, and reduce errors caused by manual document sorting.
How it works:
- Incoming documents are received or imported into Accuro as usual.
- Waive analyzes the document using AI/NLP to understand its contents.
- Waive classifies the document (e.g., “lab result,” “consult letter,” “imaging report”).
- Based on clinic-defined rules, Waive automatically:
- Routes the document to the correct provider, or leaves it for the staff to review, depending on the document type
- Flags it as urgent (vendor to confirm)
- Labels and categorizes the document based on type (vendor to confirm)
- Staff receive notifications or tasks as needed.
- The document is then managed and completed within Accuro’s standard workflow.

Custom triage rules: Supports customizable triage rules based on the clinic’s document handling process.

Data residency
Waive Medical hosts all data for Canadian clinics in secure Canadian data centers and does not store data outside of Canada.
Data usage
Document content is analyzed solely to support classification, filing and routing. Data is not shared externally except as required to provide the service. Retention policies follow Waive Medical’s standards and clinic configuration. Data is retained for 7 days to support model training and is then deleted.
