Overview
Phelix Inbox Agent uses artificial intelligence to automate a clinic’s inbound fax workflow inside Accuro, from classification and clinical data extraction to routing, filing, referral creation, and downstream workflow actions. Instead of manually reviewing large volumes of incoming faxes, staff can rely on AI to identify the document type, extract the details that matter, match the right patient, and move each document into the appropriate Accuro workflow.
Inbox Agent connects directly to the clinic’s eFax provider, including Unite, so every incoming fax is captured, analyzed, and turned into structured work inside Accuro. Clinics can configure document-level rules, routing logic, and confidence thresholds so staff can review where needed and automate where they’re comfortable. Documents can be matched to the correct patient chart, routed to the right provider or team, pushed into tasks, referral workflows, or Wait List, and processed with less manual triage even at high referral volumes.
The result is faster intake, more accurate charting, better referral coordination, and less manual admin for clinics with high fax volumes, multiple providers, or complex routing requirements.
How it works:
- Incoming faxes are pulled in automatically from the clinic’s connected eFax provider, including Unite.
- AI classifies each document to identify what it is, including referrals, consults, requisitions, results, forms, notes, imaging, and other inbound records.
- Inbox Agent extracts key clinical and administrative details such as patient demographics, provider and recipient details, diagnosis, referral information, insurance details, dates, and priority indicators.
- Documents are matched and mapped inside Accuro so they can be pushed into the right patient chart, provider inbox, task, referral workflow, or Wait List based on the clinic’s setup.
- Clinics can review, approve, or override AI suggestions when needed, while routine documents are auto-processed using configurable controls, confidence thresholds, and document-level automation rules.
- Full audit history is preserved so every action can be tracked for accountability and quality assurance.
Use cases:
- Family practices managing high inbound fax volumes
- Specialist clinics with referral intake and triage workflows
- Teams looking to reduce manual filing, backlog, and admin time
- Multi-provider clinics that need accurate routing to the right inbox or team
- Clinics handling requisitions, consults, imaging, and results at scale
- Organizations with HRPs or shared-care routing requirements
- Clinics seeking more consistent charting, faster referral handling, and better operational visibility
- Referral-heavy clinics that need to reduce backlog, improve throughput, and move documents into the right Accuro workflow faster
